The first Kimchi Festival in Denmark took place in 2013, but in 2014 the Copenhagen Kimchi Festival was established as an annual event hosted by the Copenhagen Kimchi Festival Association in collaboration with the Korean Embassy in Denmark, Korea Klubben and other partners. From 2014 to 2018, the festival was held at TorvehallerneKBH, but since 2019, the location has changed to Kulturhuset Indre By.

2020
Cph Kimchi festival canceled due to corona replaced by 1st online DIY Kimchi Workshop.
2019
Korea-Denmark Culture Year. Location moved from Torvehallerne to Indre By Kulturhus.
2018
Another year at TorvehallerneKBH including visit from a Samulnori performance group from Korea.

Temple food, K-pop Lovers and DIY Kimchi Workshops.
2016
Fermentation is the main theme of the festival. Bburi Kitchen from Korea visits the festival and teaches about Korean traditional food culture. Aartiderne DK organizes the first DIY Kimchi Workshops.
2015
The Copenhagen Kimchi Festival attracts an increasing number of visitors and partnerships and offers more activities during the weekend. The first Quiz on Korea contest is held. The winner gets a free travel to Korea and participates in a Korean tv show.
2014
The Copenhagen Kimchi Festival is organized by Korea Klubben, the Korean Embassy in Denmark and KOTRA and held in TorvehallerneKBH, the famous food market in Central Copenhagen. The homemade Kimchi Burger is a hit!
2013
7 July 2013. The First Kimchi Festival in Denmark is organized as a one day event by two Korean students and a Korean adoptee and held in the front yard of the Tysk Reformerte Kirke (Church) in Copenhagen.
